AI requires advanced and stable societies to build and maintain all the necessary and complex infrastructure to develop and run it. At the same time, it destabilizes the very civilizations it depends on, threatening labor upheavals and political instability.

If we are to reap benefits from AI and continue the kind of society capable of advancing it, we need to bolster critical institutional functions across a variety of industries, roles, and levels of governance.

We present the Datacenter Stability Reorganization Objective (DSRO) as a framework to (1) coordinate needs across industrial, energy, labor, and economic policies, (2) integrate humanist needs and goals, and (3) navigate a narrow path during this era of AI development and adoption.

Human Directed Futures: DSRO is an invite-only summit to be held November 14-16, 2025 in San Francisco, California. Discussion will be under Chatham House rules, and focused on the future of the kinds of organizations (corporate, nonprofit, governmental, or networks) which own and manage compute in this new paradigm.
